The more things change, the more they stay the same.

As anyone reading this has likely noticed, the Pet Cabaret changed hands about two months ago.  We (the Mulman family) took over from the iconic “Lisa’s” and so far it has been quite an adventure!   First of all, as we realized going in, we had huge shoes (and paws) to fill.  For eighteen years, Lisa Schlossberg and Lisa Dipietro ran an amazing business that enriched the Roslindale community immensely.  Their dedication to pets and their owners, as well as their knowledge, experience, and ongoing commitment to offering the best service and products made them not only successful, but also deeply loved and respected.  Best of Boston 2018!!!

But times change, family needs change, and people (quite deservedly) retire and move on.  Indeed, we were also embarking on something new and—to be honest—almost completely unknown.   Although we have always shared our lives with pets, no one in the family had any clue about running a pet shop.  We walked into the endeavor with only our great energy and enthusiasm to get us through.   Fortunately, we inherited a wonderful and knowledgeable staff, as well as an understanding and supportive group of customers.  Two months in, we continue to appreciate them more each day.

Although we still have much to learn, we are feeling more comfortable with the routines of the store and getting to know some very endearing pups (and people). Just as the Lisa’s did, we are making sure that everything we put on the shelves is top quality and something that we would – and do—feed our own dogs and cats.  We are continuing to try and make the store feel like a warm and welcoming place to come and browse around, although this is a bit more challenging during these truly strange times.  We are determined to offer the best possible customer service, including curbside pickup and (hopefully soon) same day delivery.  Keep tuned to social media and this webpage to learn about the new services we will be offering, but please know that the more things change, the more they stay the same.  Pet Cabaret will remain the destination pet shop for the greater Roslindale community for all the reasons it always has been.  Stop by and see for yourself…and ask for us.  We would love to meet you!
